Kigezi Wildlife Reserve forms part of the wider Queen Elizabeth Protected Area in southwestern Uganda, where savanna, woodland and riverine habitats create a quieter southern extension to the better-known safari circuit.
The experience
The reserve is a buffer landscape for wildlife moving through the Queen Elizabeth ecosystem, with elephants, buffalo, Uganda kob, topi and other species reported alongside rich birdlife and forest primates. Because tourism infrastructure is limited, the experience needs careful planning and should be combined with established western Uganda stays and activities.
