Detailed day-by-day itinerary

This itinerary is designed as a tailor-made journey. Exact departure times, park routing, meal arrangements and activities can be refined around your dates and accommodation confirmation.

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve

Meet your guide in Nairobi and begin the journey north to Samburu. Arrive in time for lunch and check-in, followed by an afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River and surrounding plains.

Accommodation: Samburu Simba Lodge

Day 2: Full Day Samburu National Reserve

Enjoy an early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Continue exploring Samburu’s diverse habitats, searching for Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, elephants, lions and other wildlife. Afternoon game drive before dinner.

Accommodation: Samburu Simba Lodge

Day 3: Samburu – Meru National Park

After breakfast, depart Samburu and travel towards Meru National Park. Arrive for lunch and check-in, then enjoy an afternoon game drive through the park’s riverine and woodland habitats.

Accommodation: iKWETA Safari Camp

Day 4: Meru National Park – Solio Ranch

Enjoy a morning game drive in Meru before breakfast and departure. Continue towards the Laikipia region and Solio Ranch for a wildlife experience focused on conservation landscapes and rhino habitat. Continue to Nyeri for the evening.

Accommodation: Maru B Courts Hotel, Nyeri

Day 5: Solio Ranch – Lake Nakuru National Park – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, depart Nyeri and travel towards Lake Nakuru. Enjoy a game drive in the park, with opportunities to see rhinos, flamingos and other Rift Valley wildlife. Continue to Lake Naivasha for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Dove Nest Lodge Naivasha

Day 6: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, enjoy an optional morning boat experience on Lake Naivasha before continuing towards the Maasai Mara. Arrive for lunch and an afternoon game drive, followed by dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Kambu Mara

Day 7: Full Day Maasai Mara National Reserve

Spend the full day on tailor-made game drives across the Maasai Mara. Explore the open plains and riverine areas in search of lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch or return to camp for lunch before the afternoon drive.

Day 8: Maasai Mara – Amboseli National Park

Enjoy an early morning game drive and breakfast before beginning the journey towards Amboseli. Arrive later in the day, check in and enjoy an afternoon game drive if time permits.

Accommodation: AA Lodge Amboseli

Day 9: Full Day Amboseli National Park

Begin with an early morning game drive, then continue exploring Amboseli’s marshes, open plains and acacia areas. Look for large elephant herds, giraffes, zebras, buffalo and predators, with views of Mount Kilimanjaro when weather permits.

Accommodation: AA Lodge Amboseli

Day 10: Amboseli – Nairobi – Departure

Enjoy a final morning game drive and breakfast before check-out. Transfer to Nairobi. If your flight schedule allows, optional relaxation or a city experience can be arranged before your transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for departure.
